Educational Assistance – Nursing Programs
The Salem Foundation is pleased to offer educational assistance to employees who wish to pursue a nursing career, and are enrolled in an accredited LPN, RN, or RPN program. Eligible receipients receive up to $4,000 depending on the course enrolled in, and must sign a “Return to Work” agreement with Salem Home. Upon graduation, the recipient is required to provide professional nursing services at Salem Home for a designated period of time.
Criteria for Application – Applicant must:
- Be in a permanent position
- Be in good standing with the organization
- Work at Salem Home (past experience with Salem Home will be considered)
- Embrace the Mission and Vision of Salem Home
- Demonstrate Relationship Centered Care
- Be recommended by Resident Care Manager

Educational Assistance – Non-Nursing Programs
The Educational Assistance Program has been extended to employees who wish to pursue education in their field of work. Eligible recipients receive up to 50% (maximum of $1,000) for achieving approved certificate program, and must sign a “Return to Work” agreement with Salem Home. Upon graduation, the recipient is required to provide services at Salem Home for a designated period of time.
Criteria for Application:
Education must be a requirement of current position; or at discretion of Salem Home Department Director.
Applicant must:
- be in a permanent position
- be in good standing with organization
- past experience with Salem Home will be considered
- embrace the Mission and Vision of Salem Home
- demonstrate Relationship Centered Care
- be recommended by Department Director

The Foundation makes state-of-the-art equipment available for resident use for a nominal fee. Equipment available for rent or purchase include:

- Tabs monitor
- Tilt Recline Wheelchair
- Transfer Belt
- Transfer Pole
- Walker
- Wheelchair
Handi-Van Service
The Foundation has purchased a Handi-Van that can be used for resident outings and Therapeutic Recreation programming.
Volunteer Program
The Salem Foundation, together with the United Way Pembina Valley provide funding for the Volunteer Program.
