Get your appetite ready to support a great cause at the Summer BBQ Celebration hosted by Salem Foundation and the Ladies Auxiliary. Mark your calendars for tomorrow, Wednesday, May 22nd, 2024, as we gather in the tent on the south parking lot at Salem Home in Winkler, MB. Parking for the event will be available at Grace Mennonite Church, with a the Handi-Van ready to transport guests to Salem Home.
From 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, we invite you to indulge in a delicious BBQ supper, all while contributing to the creation of a special area for families sitting with residents in Palliative Care. The monies raised from this event will be used to provide a dedicated space where families can gather and support their loved ones during challenging times.
Foundation Chair, Henry Enns, expressed the importance of this initiative, stating, “It was revealed through our family surveys that resident families need a space to gather during such a time as this, and we want to honor them in this way.” The community’s support has been instrumental in funding projects like this that are not covered by the government, and Salem Foundation is grateful for the ongoing generosity.
The evening will be filled with musical entertainment by the talented Quonset Brothers, a band formed in 2013. The Quonset Brothers have captivated audiences at events like Winkler Harvest Fest, Celebrate Summer, and Singing in the Grain to celebrate World Food Day. Known for their diverse repertoire, including songs like “Mennonites put the OBA in Manitoba,” “The Auctioneer,” “Let your love flow,” and “Donna,” the Quonset Brothers deliver a mix of hard-driving country tunes, slow-moving gospel songs, and tight harmonies that are sure to entertain you.
Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy good food, great music, and support a cause that truly matters. Together, we can make a difference in our community. See you at the BBQ! Can’t make it to the BBQ tomorrow, but would like to support this project, click here
