Dear Families and Visitors,
Given the evolving COVID-19 situation, public health officials have recommended the immediate suspension of visitors at long-term care facilities across Manitoba.
Exceptions for compassionate reasons or end of life will be made on a case-by-case basis.
In the event that you or anyone in your family receives a positive test result for COVID-19 AND has visited Salem Home within the last 14 days, we ask that you immediately notify:
Katharina Bruhn at 204-325-4316 ext 242.
If you have questions about your loved one, we ask that you speak with the nurse on the care area or you can call or email the Resident Care Managers. They will respond to you as soon as they are able.

Maple: Kim Enns, email@example.com
Evergreen/Willow: Dayna Jonasson, firstname.lastname@example.org
Residents will miss the daily interactions with families, friends and volunteers, but we commit to finding ways for your loved one to have meaning and purpose throughout their day.
For families who are doing resident’s laundry, arrangements can be made to pick up dirty laundry and drop off clean laundry at the front doors.
If you need to drop something off for a resident, please leave it at the front doors with their name
clearly printed on the item and we will make sure they receive it.
Care conferences will be held via teleconference instead of in person. If you would like to attend, please let the Social Worker know so she can make these arrangements for you.
We ask for your prayers and support during this exceptional time – for residents as their world has changed around them, for staff as they provide care even as they go through their own personal circumstances of finding child care, and for the Governing Board and Leadership as decisions need to be made, often with limited information.
Thank you for your understanding as we take every measure to protect you, your loved ones and our staff.
Karin Oliveira, RN
Director of Resident Care Services
