The Salem Foundation and the Ladies Auxiliary are busy undertaking another major renovation project. All proceeds from the 2019 Building for Tomorrow Dinner will go towards new furniture for the resident rooms.
Some of the furniture that is in the resident rooms was purchased in 1986. The furniture is beat up, scuffed up, and falling apart. Even some of the newer furniture from 1996 is showing its age.
The furniture that the Salem Foundation and the Ladies Auxiliary are wanting to buy is specifically built for care homes. If a piece of the furniture is damaged, that one piece can be replaced, and the furniture looks new again. So if a resident accidentally drives their wheelchair into an open drawer scratching the finish and damages the drawer pull, we can just order the drawer face and replace that piece.
The goal of the 2019 Building for Tomorrow Dinner is to purchase a dresser, night stand and a chair in each resident room. The estimated cost of this project is $5,500.00 per room.
Tickets are on sale now at the Salem front office. Tickets are $100.00 (with a $50.00 tax receipt) or $800.00 (with a $400.00 tax receipt) for a table of 8.
