There are over 200 volunteers who contribute their valuable time to Salem Home. This crucial and invaluable part of our organization is coordinated through donations from the Salem Foundation and The United Way.

Salem Home Volunteers are:
- Interested and able to work with people who are elderly and those who have special needs
- Respectful and sensitive to the residents of Salem Home
- Able to maintain confidentiality
- Caring, friendly, honest, reliable and punctual
- Able to work independently
- Willing to adhere to Salem Home's health and safety guidelines
- Willing to work within the guidelines set by the Volunteer Program
- Preferably 15 years of age or older. Younger volunteers need to be under the supervision of an adult.
- Willing to provide a criminal record check
