Our Life Program's goal is to enrich the daily lives of our residents. Check out some of the fun things going on at Salem Home.
One of life's creature comforts - food. Our team of cooks, dieticians and cookie baking volunteers work hard to make sure everyone is eating healthy and happy.

Core Behaviours
Core Behaviours are the day-to-day expressions of our Values.
Our board of directors and employees worked together to create this list. By practicing these Core Behaviours, the employees of Salem Home are able to set aside their differences and work toward a common goal. They can be summarized into what is commonly known as The Golden Rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" - Matthew 7:12.
The Core Behaviours are:
- Accepting one another
- Believing in one another
- Respecting one another
- Encouraging and complimenting other employees when they have done something exceptional
- Continuously challenging ourselves and others to become more aware of how we respond to people and situations around us
- Trusting each other
- Refraining from talking about each other
- Refraining from judging each other
- Refraining from talking about the residents at the break table
- Do what you say you will do
- Say what you mean and mean what you say
- Do what you said you were going to do
- Have meaningful interaction with residents
- Creating joy for the resident
- Take the time to pray with residents - Have a copy of the “Lord’s Prayer” available to read to resident
- Exercising compassion with one another
- Leaving yourself open to possibilities
